On a February morning Mira was riding her motor bike into work along the N81 from Blessington towards Tallaght. Mira was coming around a bend when a motor came from a side road onto the main road. Mira managed to avoid the car using her foot but the back bumper of the car caught her left boot. She was diagnosed with having a bi-malleolar fracture. She was out of work for four months. She made a full recovery. The injuries board awarded €75,000 and she was happy to accept same.
